Dr. Kelly Ivors

Associate Professor, Horticulture and Crop Science Department, Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo


Kelly Ivors received her B.S. in Bioenvironmental Science in 1992 and her M.S. in Plant Pathology in 1995 from Texas A&M University. From 1995 to 1998, she worked as a research technician at the USDA-ARS in Corvallis, OR on alternatives to Methyl Bromide involving soilborne pathogens of horticultural crops, including strawberry. She went back to school and received her PhD in Plant Pathology from Penn State University in 2002. Kelly has also conducted Post-Doctoral Research at UC Berkeley and at Plant Research International in Wageningen, The Netherlands. From 2004 to 2014, Kelly was an Assistant and then Associate Professor and Extension Plant Pathologist at North Carolina State University, where she worked extensively with growers of vegetable, nursery and greenhouse crops. Kelly is now an Associate Professor in the Horticulture and Crop Science Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where she teaches and conducts research on plant pathogens in commercial strawberry production.
